In this video two Brazilian scholars discuss about the UBI (Universal Basic Income) proposal looking for the Brazilian reality. As the economic crisis triggered by the Covid-19 pandemic continues, several countries around the globe are looking to UBI as a way to support their populations.

Brazilian welfare system and social security institutionality are discussed in the light of UBI discussion which turned to be a hot topic during the pandemic as an important economic and social policy.

The first day of the workshop is intended to initiate students to the foundational concepts of ecological economics. Ecological economics is an ecological critique of economics, applying the energetics of life to the study of the economy. It also investigates the social distribution of environmental costs and benefits.
