Le franc CFA est une monnaie utilisée dans 14 pays d'Afrique sub-saharienne. Créé par la France en 1945, c'est la seule monnaie coloniale encore en circulation dans le monde. Une exception qui a des répercussions bien réelles sur les économies de ces pays africains. Entre limitation des capacités d'investissement et immobilisme des élites, certains économistes et historiens défendent l'idée qu'il est temps de sortir de cette "servitude monétaire".

In diesem Workshop zeigt Christian Proaño die Kritik an der Neuen Neoklassischen Synthese aus Sicht der Behavioral Macroeconomics. Für Fortgeschrittene gibt er einen Einblick in Behavioral Macroeconomics und zeigt Modelle mit heterogenen Erwartungen (De Grauwe 2012), den Aggregate Sentiments Approach (Franke 2012) sowie den Learning Aproach (nach Evans, Honkapohja 2001). Kritiker könnten der Behavioral Macroeconomics Forschung vorwerfen, dass sie im Grunde Neoklassische Konzepte repariert, das wissenschaftstheoretische Fundament aber nie verlässt und sich damit selbst begrenzt. The module is designed to first present some of the main schools of thought from a historical and methodological perspective. Each week we explore and critically assess the main tenants of each school of thought. In the second part of the module we link history of economic thought and methodology to a specific and contemporary economic question. The second part allows you to engage with current economic issues with an awareness of methodology and methodological differences and with some knowledge of the history of economics.
