The Masters of Austrian Economics playlist highlights the ideas and foundations of the Austrian school of economics. It espouses the work of some its prominent members such as Menger, Hayek, Mises, Rothbard and Bohm-Bawerk. The playlist aims to show how all economic phenomena ultimately result from the action of the individual. The mainstream formation of economic laws through econometrics is thus discarded and replaced with axiomatic deductive reasoning. It would be best for the visitor to follow in chronological order as the presenter builds on previous presentations to integrate ideas by older thinkers with the later ones. This is a great introduction for anyone with little to no experience in economics because it explains how humans act in the real world by example of Robinson Crusoe, a man stranded on an island. This method is easy to follow by contrast to the use of abstract models. The playlist is directed at anyone with in interest in economics.
This is a fantastic introduction to Austrian Economics for laypeople. It slowly develops the school's core principles from the thinking of its founders, all the way to key thinkers to integrate both macro and microeconomics into one coherent whole.
